A professional safari company requires a competent Lodge and Administration Manager to join their team at the lodge in Zululand.

The lodge consists of 14 beds and caters exclusively to European visitors. Current staff include 2 chefs, a cleaning team and a groundsman. Peak season is from March to November. The role reports to the MD and the owner, who live on site at the lodge. The closest town is Pongola.

Duties will include:

  • Stock control
  • Purchasing and orders
  • Arranging and accepting deliveries
  • Planning of menus
  • Overseeing staff
  • Special function / event management
  • Ensuring the lodge is neat and clean at all times
  • Booking and planning of guest activities
  • Filing
  • Data capture
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Permit management.

The position calls for someone who is well presented, orderly, accurate and friendly. Other requirements include:

  • Matric
  • Full computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Competency in the use of Pastel
  • Proven general administration skills
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English fluency a must, basic Zulu and an additional European language preferable).
Salary Details:

Salary is negotiable depending on experience (R10 000 to R15 000 per month) plus 13th cheque and transport allowance. Accommodation is not supplied at the lodge.
