A growing ag-tech company has a new senior role available for an Area Sales Manager for the Northern SA (Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West) citrus growing regions.

The company is a an established innovator in using technology to assist growers to efficiently manage trees, orchards and yield estimates.

The purpose of the Area Sales Manager will be to manage existing clients and growers as well as expand new business in the area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Grow and sustain revenue in core territory in terms of P&L;
  • Manage sales and grow revenue and ensure client retention and satisfaction;
  • Drive and ensure marketing activities in terms of a marketing strategy.
  • Ensure client engagement and retention.
  • Develop a growth and retention strategy for the region;
  • Manage key accounts and large partnerships.

The role will require relevant sales and marketing experience in citrus, orchard crops and ag-technology. Knowledge of the citrus industry in the Limpopo & Mpumalanga will be important.

The Area Sales Manager must have the ability to:

  • Understand the sales cycle and process in a customer purchase journey.
  • Set personal goals and targets.
  • Develop a strategy best aligned to a customer region.
  • Strategically plan and do business development.
  • Build trusting relationships between individuals and teams through open and honest communication.
  • Communicate to internal and external clients.
  • Interact, communicate and execute at an executive level.
  • Communicate and implement a vision that influences others to focus on organisational strategy and values.
  • Analytically evaluate information in a systematic manner to solve problems and make effective decisions.
